Why isn't a planned reclass/FTE/salary change for my employee coming through in CPM from iVantage?

Use case:

I submitted paperwork to HR for a planned reclassification/FTE change/salary change for an existing employee.  I see in iVantage this change has been entered with a future start date.  Why is this not available in the Plan Employee Salaries Grid, in Incurred Actual for me to copy to my Working Plan using the S1 process?

Answer:

The CPM load process for the Incurred Actuals scenario relies on a "current flag" in iVantage to identify what to put in the Current and Prior Employee records.  This flag is ot turned on in the iVantage record until the effective position start date.

Possible Alternative:

A change to approach could be considered but would require stakeholder agreement on the following:

  • pull these future records from iVantage into the Next1 record in Plan Employee Salaries, Incurred Actual - feasibility needs exploration
  • agree that in the S1 copy process which copies Incurred Actual to Working Plan to replace Next1 records in Working Plan with Next1 records in Incurred Actual

Pros:

  • iVantage information is available sooner to be incorporated into Working Plan

Cons:

  • users still need to understand manage their Working Plan Next 2 records once the copy process is run
  • if start dates or specifics about the FTE/reclass/salary change are adjusted in iVantage between the time the future record is created and the time the change is effective, users need to be aware of that and re-copy/update their Working Plan accordingly
