Purpose of Mapping: facilitates the ABR process, allowing Labs to identify and rank priorities, simplifies and makes answering questions from management or sponsors more consistent

Preliminary Steps for Mapping – Identify and create lists for:
Lab Strategic Plan items
Lab Priority items
Project / Activity items
Map Projects / Activities to Priorities and Enter Ranking
Map Projects / Activities to Lab Strategic Plan Items
Map Planned Non-Salary expenses to Projects / Activities
Map Planned Employee Salary expenses to Projects / Activities
Verify Mapped Funds against actual Planned Funds
Sorting, Grouping, Filtering and Copying entries are KEY to making the data entry in the grids most efficient
Sorting and Grouping
Sort by Columns
Group by Column Header(s) in the Group Panel
Filtering
Filter with Filter Row by typing the selection, which is essentially “starts with”
Filter on a column header(s) by selecting or unselecting specific items within the column
Create or edit a Filter in the Filter Editor which includes “and”, “or”, “begins with”, “ends with”, “contains”, “does not contain”…
Clearing, Disabling or Editing Filters
