Login: Use your cit login and password. Lab Administrative support will verify that everyone can log in before the training – once their security rules are defined, tested, and implemented on production
Training Outline:
1.1. Walk through dimension selection set-up for each attendee in the grids they will be using primary
2. Hands-on Drill down on grids Program Managers will use:
2.1. Employee expense Planning:
2.1.1. Employee expense data entry grids
2.1.1.1. Employee Account Allocation – Hours by Quarter
2.1.1.2. Employee Assumptions?
2.1.2. Employee Projections Reporting Grids – verify plan, see impacts
2.1.2.1. Resource impacts - Employee Projections Quarterly
2.1.2.2. Resource impacts - Employee Projections Annual
2.1.2.3. Resource impacts - Employee Plan vs Forecast (Hours – need to develop Interim rate scenarios for this if they choose to include expenses in views )
2.1.2.4. Bottom-line Impact - What If Forecast Analysis
2.1.2.5. Bottom-line Impact - Multi-year Projections
Open process discussion topics
- How will Employee Assumptions be managed in What If?
- Need to talk through use of NonSalary data entry grids
- Who will ensure that What If Plan Employee salaries (S1 process) is updated and current in What If scenario – requires write salary access? (could be updated every time Working Plan is copied from actual. What about placeholders?) How will this be managed/communicated/coordinated?
2.2. Hands on Navigation Practice - Student-driven
1. Creating Sandboxes – should we integrate into #3 above for specific grids or let them practice on the core What If and then do these exercises?
1.1. Create sandbox from Employee Account Allocation – Hours by Quarter data entry grid and review changes on employee reporting grid(s)
1.2. Other grids to practice sandboxing on tbd??
2. Hands-on Drill down on grids Program Managers will use (list needs verification by Diane – and prioritization given limited time?)
3. Copy processes (updating/priming What If scenario):
3.1. N1: Copy NonSalary from Working Plan
3.2. N2: Copy NonSalary from IFAS Budget or IFAS Actuals
3.3. S3: Copy Hours from Working Plan
3.4. S4: Copy Hours from IFAS Actuals
Open process discussion topics:
- Will RAL pick one method for planning non-salary expenses? (monthly or evenly spread by FY or PoP?) Or will this vary by account key/program? If it will vary, how will this be coordinated between Working Plan and What If for updates?
- Should we not expose the other copy processes in the Program Manager application?
4. Non Salary Planning data entry grids:
4.1 Plan NonSalary Expenses – Annual Spreading
4.2 NonSalary Expenses – Monthly
4.3 NonSalary Planning PoP
4.4 Expected Funds Data Entry
4.5 Active Keys with no planned expenses
4.6 Scenario Assumptions
4.7 Division CSC assumptions
5. Recap at end to identify further training needs
